Yam Who? is the internationally known alter ego of the disco producer Andy Williams and the man behind Midnight Riot. For over 2 decades Yam Who? has been on the forefront of the modern disco, boogie & soul UK scene. Since founding the flagship Midnight Riot label in 2012, he’s launched hundreds of careers, sold tens of thousands of records and created one of the most influential disco labels of the decade.
Yam Who? is also an in-demand producer, remixer and re-editor. His Qwestlife project alongside partner in crime Tom Layoye was a huge success on the Glitterbox label with 3 chart-topping singles plus a brilliant debut album including collaborations with Sugarhill Gang, Melle Mel, Scorpio & Siedah Garrett.
And while you might not know it, Yam Who? is behind some of the scene’s biggest hits thanks to his work as a studio producer. Whether it’s alongside legendary NYC disco band Odyssey, unleashing Amp Fiddler’s funk on ‘Motor City Booty’ or creating disco fever with Grace Jones and John Legend, he’s become one of the most influential disco producers in the world.
Currently finding huge success with legendary Gospel crate digger & spinner extraordinaire Greg Belson under their Dvine Who alias. They’re working alongside American Gospel royalty, Lady Lois Snead, and is already finding love on the more discerning dance floors.
Yam Who’s ethos is a celebration of life-affirming positive vibes whilst residing in the epicentre of a scene that remains hugely popular, expertly moving between starlight Disco, House, Boogie, Afro, Gospel and party goodness!
After their biggest ADE party to date last October 2023, Yam Who? & Midnight Riot have parties & gigs bookedin Europe, Ibiza, London, Manchester, Glasgow, Brighton, & festivals including Standon Calling & Wilderness. Yam Who? has been a fixture on club and festival line ups around the globe for over a decade including regular slots at Glitterbox, Lovebox, Ministry Of Sound, Horse Meat Disco and Love International.
All that knowledge has been put to good use as a journalist and editor; first as the Mixmag disco editor and more recently with his ‘Disco Juice’ features on the Le Visiteur website, providing a cutting edge platform for the disco, boogie & house modern scene.
