Sonia Lagoonは、バルセロナ生まれ、東京を拠点とするDJ、キュレーター、イベントオーガナイザーであり、その高密度なセットは、マキナ、デコンストラクテッド・クラブ、実験的なラテン・クラブ・ミュージックの境界線を曖昧にしている。
2022年にバルセロナでDJとしてのキャリアをスタートさせた後、すぐに東京へ移住。東京のアンダーグラウンドシーンに没頭することで、独自の芸術的表現を確立した。ヨーロッパのレイヴ文化と東京の実験的なクラブシーンの両方から深い影響を受けたSonia Lagoonは、あらゆるパフォーマンスに柔軟なアプローチで臨み、テンポの速い、感情に訴えかける旅路を紡ぎ出し、異なるスタイルの間に予期せぬつながりを生み出している。
2023年、彼女はアーティストのLungと共に東京を拠点とするパーティRABIAを共同設立し、冒険心あふれるクラブミュージックとライブパフォーマンスのためのプラットフォームを創出した。このシリーズでは、Fitnesss、Sevi Iko Dømochevsky、Violent Magic Orchestra、Moreruといった国際的に高い評価を受けるアーティストを招聘し、東京の実験的なナイトライフにおいて確固たる地位を築くと同時に、ローカルアーティストや観客とインターナショナルアーティストや観客との架け橋となっている。
日本ではめったに耳にすることのないサウンドを保存し、広めたいという思いから、Sonia Lagoonは、90年代から00年代のスペインのマキナを現代のダンスフロアに紹介・再解釈することで知られるようになり、このジャンルの楽曲をアナログレコードで演奏する機会も増えている。また、日本のハードコアのアイコンであるエゴマニアとのアナログレコードによるB2BプロジェクトSUNIMANIAを通じて、よりハードなサウンドにも挑戦しています。
自身が育った環境で親しんだサウンドやダンスカルチャーを懐かしみつつ、レゲトンやデコンストラクテッド・クラブの要素もセットに取り入れ、自身のルーツと日本での生活の両方が形作る遊び心あふれる再解釈を披露している。このユニークな視点により、Virgen María主催のGATA Magazineのパーティや、Yung Beef主催のInfierno Tokyoなど、数々のイベントでパフォーマンスを行っている。

Sonia Lagoon is a Barcelona-born, Tokyo-based DJ, curator and event organizer whose high-intensity sets blur the boundaries between makina, deconstructed club and experimental Latin club music.
After beginning her DJ journey in Barcelona in 2022, she soon relocated to Tokyo, where immersing herself in the city’s underground scene allowed her to develop a distinctive artistic voice. Deeply influenced by both European rave culture and Tokyo’s experimental club scene, Sonia Lagoon approaches every performance with versatility, crafting fast-paced, emotionally charged journeys that create unexpected connections between styles.
In 2023, she co-founded the Tokyo-based party RABIA alongside artist Lung, creating a platform for adventurous club music and live performance. The series has hosted internationally acclaimed artists including Fitnesss, Sevi Iko Dømochevsky, Violent Magic Orchestra and Moreru, becoming a respected fixture within Tokyo’s experimental nightlife while building bridges between local and international artists and audiences.
Motivated by a desire to preserve and share a sound rarely heard in Japan, Sonia Lagoon has become known for introducing and reinterpreting Spanish 90s and 00s Makina on contemporary dancefloors, increasingly performing the genre on vinyl. She also explores harder sounds through SUNIMANIA, her vinyl B2B project with Japanese hardcore icon Egomania.
Missing the sounds and dance culture she grew up surrounded with, she also incorporates reggaeton and deconstructed club into her sets, offering playful reinterpretations shaped by both her roots and her life in Japan. This unique perspective has led to performances for events including Virgen María’s GATA Magazine party, and Yung Beef’s Infierno Tokyo.
Whether playing an all-vinyl Makina set, an experimental club night or a sexy dance-driven selection, Sonia Lagoon delivers uncompromising, high-BPM journeys driven by intensity, nostalgia and emotional release, always finding new ways to connect the sounds of Barcelona and Tokyo through the dancefloor.
