「ロングプレイ」という言葉の輪郭が、いつの間にか曖昧になってきているようだ。かつては時間の長さがその定義の中心だったが、今では2～3時間のセットでも「ロングプレイ」と称されることが珍しくない。おそらく、1時間単位でDJが入れ替わるスタイルが常態化したことが背景にあるのだろう。しかし、そのような短いサイクルの中で、本当に物語や旅路のような深い体験は生まれるのだろうか。今回のセットは7時間にも及び、その重厚さは既存の枠組みを大きく超えている。この圧倒的な長さを前にして、もはや「ロングプレイ」という呼び名は役不足に感じる。ここでは仮に、「ウルトラロングプレイ」とでも名付けておこう。長い夜をあなたと飛び越えてみたい。是非お付き合いください (松浦俊夫)

The contours of the term ‘long play’ seem to have become blurred at some point. In the past, the length of time was central to the definition, but nowadays it is not unusual for a set of two to three hours to be referred to as a ‘long play’.Perhaps this is due to the fact that the style of DJs changing on an hourly basis has become the norm. But does such a short cycle really create a deep experience, like a story or a journey?The set this time lasts for seven hours, and its gravity far exceeds the existing framework. In the face of this overwhelming length, the term ‘long play’ no longer feels useful. Let’s call it an ‘ultra-long play’ for the sake of argument. I want to fly over the long night with you.
