エレクトロニックミュージックの核心部分を追究すべく、2003年から2011年の9年間にYellow、UNIT、elevenを拠点にageHa、AIR等、主要クラブ各地にて計50回以上開催され、東京における新たなパーティのあり方を提示してきたReal Groovesが待望の再会・Reunionを果たす

カナダ、オンタリオ州、ウォータールーにおけるパーティ、Rotation Fridaysを起源とし、オーガナイザーであったJosh Childが東京に移住し、レジデントアーティストを担っていたMike Shannonがドイツ、ベルリンを活動拠点としたことをきっかけに、東京とベルリンが先鋭的なサウンドで繋がり、精力的なコミュニティが形成されるReal Groovesが創成されてきた。  東京を活動拠点とするReal GroovesのレジデントDJ達と、Mathew Jonson、Deadbeat、The Mole、Pier Bucciなど数々のアーティスト達と日本のつながりを導いてきたMike ShannonとJosh Child。長い年月を経てもなお強い絆で結ばれている同志が時を越え、国境を越えて、集うことで、再び新たな拡がりが生まれる一夜となることは必至だ。

Real Grooves, which pursued the core of electronic music and held over 50 events in major night spot such as Yellow, UNIT, eleven, ageHa, and AIR over nine years from 2003 to 2011, presenting a new way of partying in Tokyo, is finally having its long-awaited reunion

Originating from the “Rotation Fridays”, party in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, Real Grooves was created when promoter Josh Child moved to Tokyo and resident artist Mike Shannon based himself in Berlin, Germany. This led to the connection between Tokyo and Berlin through cutting-edge sounds, forming a vibrant community.

Real Grooves’ resident DJs, based in Tokyo,  Mike Shannon and Josh Child, who have guided the connections between Japan and numerous artists such as Mathew Jonson, Deadbeat, The Mole, and Pier Bucci, will be reuniting.  The night is sure to be one in which comrades, bound by strong ties even after many years, gather across time and borders, creating a new and expansive force.
